Behind the keyboard

Heya, I'm Stacey

The voice behind Simplicity From Scratch, and Mama to alllll the things at Coghlan Cottage Farm.

In 2010 I ditched my “responsibleimportant” government career and it’s soul-sucking cubicle to try something different ( and a little crazy ).  I traded my life of high-heels and lawyers for gumboots and chicken poop and never looked back.

Now my days are spent in my farmhouse office ( in slippers, not stilettos ) curled up by the fire with my laptop, writing and teaching other women to take the leap into the slow life of their dreams.

When I’m not writing I’m working the farm; running our farm store, tending the garden, collecting eggs, snuggling sheep and my two little kids.

( Let’s be honest, mostly snuggling, really. )

I’m passionate about Slow Living, good food grown with love and the idea that Slowing Down can lead to big change – in our hearts, in our lives and in our communities.

Keepin’ it slow + steady since 2008

what I do

empowering women through slowness

Choosing to intentionally slow down in a world that glorifies busy is an act of rebellion.

Slowness for me is the ultimate act of resistance. By slowing down we can reclaim our health, our ease and our joy.

My mission is to empower other women with the tools, skills and confidence to slow down and finally build a life they actually love.
